Experienced Staff
Collectively, the staff at Dr. Robert Armstrong Family Dentistry has a staggering 175 years experience in dentistry or related fields, and 104 of those total years are at this office. Working as a team for so long has allowed us to perfect our skills and come together to offer excellence in customer service and satisfaction.
Dr. Robert Armstrong
Dr. Armstrong received his DDS from Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago and has been practicing dentistry since 1987. A firm believer in continuing education and a personal commitment to excellence, Dr. Armstrong has also received a Mastership Award from the Academy of General Dentistry.
The Mastership is the highest honor available in the Academy and one of the most respected designations in the profession. To accomplish this, he completed 1100 hours of continuing dental education in the sixteen disciplines of dentistry, including four hundred hours dedicated to hands-on skills.
Dr. Armstrong is a staff member of the Cheboygan Memorial Hospital and is the only Cheboygan County dentist with operating room privileges at the facility. This allows him to provide resident and emergency room patient dental care of medically compromised patients.

He is a former Captain in the US Army National Guard and is the exclusive local dental provider to the Coast Guard Cutter Mackinaw stationed in Cheboygan. He was also instrumental in establishing Dental Clinics North, a free children’s clinic in Cheboygan.
Dr. Armstrong's personal interests include theater. He has held parts in Fiddler on the Roof, Little Shop of Horrors, and Foreigner with the Northland Players as well as participated in the Rivertown Follies where he was President of the group as well. He is a Knights of Columbus member and served in various positions including Grand Knight, chairperson of the membership and vocations committees, and is chairperson for a major fundraising project. He currently sits on the finance council of his church, St. Mary's/St. Charles Catholic Church.
He married his college sweetheart, Gerri, and together they are the proud parents of daughters Monica and Paige.
Ann
A registered dental hygienist for 21 years, Ann received her training at Ferris State University. A mother of two, she juggles her busy professional life with her family life that includes being an involved "sports mom" as well as an avid volleyball player.
Eva
Eva graduated from Grand Rapids Community College and is a registered dental hygienist, practicing for nine years. She enjoys outdoor activities (including gardening) and spends a lot of time attending her four children’s sporting events.
Ellen
After receiving her teaching certificate and working in the classroom for six years, Ellen changed careers and now has 40 years in the dental field under her belt. This active grandmother of seven enjoys spending time with her family as well as camping, horseback riding, and hitting the trails on her ORV.
Monique
After raising three children, Monique started her career in the dental business and has 20 years experience as an assistant and receptionist. She has three darling grandsons and keeps busy spending as much time as possible with them. She also bakes and takes in movies when possible.
Birdie
A registered dental hygienist, Birdie received her education from Kalamazoo Valley Community College. She has 17 years experience and finds time to enjoy gardening when she isn’t busy making smiles shine at the office.
Joanne
Joanne has been a dental assistant for 28 years. She has a “huge” love of family and also enjoys home decorating as well as decorative painting.
Stephanie
Stephanie manages billings for the Armstrong practice and has worked in an office setting for 20 years. She calls herself a “people person” and anyone visiting the office can see she loves working with the public.
